Quick Overview of Corvera Airport

It’s been an exciting week in the region with the new airport finally opening to international flights so here we take a quick look at what is on offer at the new Region de Murcia Airport at Corvera.

Distance

From Condado de Alhama the new airport is approximately 40kms away, just a 30 minute drive.

Airlines & Destinations

So far there are 4 airlines operating from Region de Murcia Airport going to 13 destinations, mostly in the UK. More are expected to be added in the next few months and an increase in flights will occur over the summer period.

Airlines flying into the airport are Ryanair, EasyJet, TUI and Air City Grupo.

Passenger Services

For passengers with reduced mobility PRM  assistance is available inside the airport, this must be arranged in advance by calling (+34) 91 321 10 00 and two meetings points can be found inside the terminal.

The terminal also has ATM’s, lost and found department and free Wifi,

Car Hire

At present there are three car hire companies with offices operating inside the terminal, they are Europcar, Firefly and Goldcar.

Cafes & Restaurants

There is only a Costa Coffee open for now which is located outside the arrivals gate.

Shopping & Duty Free

For the time being duty free is available via vending machines, a wider range of shops are expected to open in the coming months.

Taxi and Transfers

The taxi rank is located on the ground floor next to the departures exit.

A fixed rate of 29 euros to the center of Murcia is in place, this also covers the outlaying regions of Ronda Sur and the avenues of Miguel Induráin, Reino de Murcia, Doctor Guillén and Ronda Oeste, and it also includes Espinardo and the districts of La Arboleja, La Albatalía, Los Dolores, Santiago y Zaraíche and Puente Tocinos. No other charges may be applied to this rate.

Public Transport

There are four bus routes going to and from the airport served by Interbus. These are as follows;

• Murcia direct San Andrés-Murcia Bus Station
• Cartegena direct Cartagena Bus Station
• Mar Manor stopping at San Pedro del Pinatar, which stops in San Javier
• Los Narejos and Roda Golf with stops stops in La Torre Golf, Terrazas Golf, Mar Menor Golf, Serena Golf and Los Alcázares.

Parking

Parking is available at the airport and is just a few metres from the terminal, ideal for picking up an dropping off passengers.
