The Board of Presidents have been looking at the option of using the old Polaris Showroom building on the outer ring road as a potential venue for the 2019 AGM in February, or hiring a marquee. The board have provisional agreement from the company marketing the showroom to use it as a venue although it will need to be assessed for its suitability and access to the site is still pending.
The showroom has been closed for many years and on-site facilities such as utilities, toilets, internet access, etc, will all need to be checked to see if they are functional and the site able to accommodate a meeting with large numbers in attendance.
Confirmation of its suitability is not expected until early January so an alternative option to hire a 400m2 marquee was suggested. Should this option go ahead the marquee will be erected on the sports pitches at The Condado Club with the rental costs being met by the community.
The two options were voted on and The Board of Presidents unanimously agreed to the first option of using the Polaris Showroom as the venue for the next AGM and to prepare for the second option of hiring a marquee should that not be possible.
