The Condado Food Bank initiative is offering a much needed lifeline to many local families impacted by Covid-19 restrictions.
The Condado Food Bank still continues to collect food and supplies for families on-site who are suffering the financial impact that Covid-19 is having on local economy.
The food bank was started earlier this year by concerned residents during the earlier lock down as a means to provide essentials to those who’s income had ben affected by the Covid lockdown.. Following a positive response, a second appeal has been started as the latest round of closures to local businesses has resulted in continued loss of employment for some people.
Recently, hundreds of euros have been generously donated and as many as 17 families were being supplied with bags of food delivered to them by keen volunteers.
Do you know anyone who needs help?
A Facebook group called ‘Condado Food Bank 2020 Neighbours Helping Neighbours‘ has been setup to coordinate the effort. Anyone needing the help of the food bank should contact the group administrators (Margaret Keegan or Caroline Jones) privately.
Donations welcome
A shopping trolley is available in the Spar Supermarket for people to drop off items of shopping to be used by the food bank. Alternatively contact the organisers via their Facebook group to arrange donations.
Anyone who wants to help and contribute to the fund can send donations directly using a PayPal link setup by the food bank organisers.
