This morning the Councilor for Hospitality, Nani Navarro , has presented, together with Eloy Ramirez, responsible for Refresh coffee, the fourth edition of ‘Alhama de Tapas y Cócteles’, which will take place on weekends from November 9 to 18, 2018 This year 15 local hoteliers participate, 10 of them with tapas, three with cocktails and, as a novelty, two of desserts.
Customers can enjoy a tapa plus a drink, cocktail or candy in each of the participating venues, which will be divided into three zones, at a single price of € 2.50. In addition, as in previous editions, they will be able to assess which is their favorite tapa, cocktail or candy, voting through the cards that they will find in all the bars and restaurants that participate. The assessment will be scored from 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.
The prizes that can be chosen are:
- 1st prize: iPhone X.
- 2nd prize: batch with a ham, a cheese, a ham knife + chaira and a bottle of wine.
- 3rd prize: batch with a ham, a cheese, a ham knife + chaira and a bottle of wine.
In addition to voting, the contest will have a jury of experts who will also issue their verdict and who will join the 50% customer score to decide which has been the best tapa and the best cocktail in this edition.
This jury will assess the hoteliers on Tuesday, November 6 in the Feast celebrations hall at 7:00 p.m. and will be composed of:
- Cuchita Lluch , one of the most influential women in the world of gastronomy in Spain. She was president of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy of Valencia and member of the national gastronomy academy. Founder of the company ‘La lista’, dedicated to the organization of events.
- Santi Prieto Gramage , executive chef. Head chef at ‘La Cuina Restaurant, Sents Restaurant’ (Ontinyent, Valencian Community). It has a Michellin star.
- Antonio Martínez , professor at the School of Hospitality of Cartagena – D3 room.
- María José Martínez , head chef and owner of the ‘Lienzo’ restaurant in Valencia. Finalist to cook revelation at Madrid Fusión.
The cards, duly sealed and completed, will be deposited at the polls located in the participating establishments, at the Tourism office and at the Training and Employment Center. In participating establishments until November 18, inclusive. In the Training and Employment Center, and in the tourism office, the delivery of sealed cards will be accepted until Tuesday, November 20, at the closing time of these offices.
The draw for the prizes will be held on Wednesday November 21 at 12:00 and the awards ceremony on Thursday, November 22 at 12:00 h., Both in the Plenary Hall of the City Council. Once the draw has been made, the winners will be called by telephone and will be summoned to pick up the prize the next day.
The City Council will make available to customers two free trains, which will circulate continuously throughout the municipality as a means to visit the premises and enjoy their tapas and cocktails. Iran making stops, every 20 minutes approximately, in the center, General Vidal Abarca street, railway station, Don Jamón, Animunis Park and Fuente del Ral street, on November 10 and 17, from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. , and November 11 and 18, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
